If for any reason you are not fully satisfied with ByteFlasher, you can request a return within 14 days of your purchase date. FAQs

What mobile devices are supported?

For now, only Android is supported, but we are finalizing our iOS app.

Do I need to have an internet connection on my mobile device?

Yes, the mobile app requires you to login periodically.  It also checks for software updates as needed.

Do I need to near a Wi-Fi router to tune?

If your mobile device has an active SIM card, then no.  If your mobile device requires a Wi-Fi connection to access the internet, then yes.

Is Bluetooth supported?

Not yet, but this is on our roadmap as a future feature.

Is a battery charger required?

It is highly recommended to have a battery charger for the first flash which could take several minutes.  After the first flash, however, flashes are much faster and a charger is generally not necessary.

Do I need to remove my DME?

No, everything is done via the OBD2 port.

Do I need a computer to tune?

No, you only need a mobile device and the ByteFlasher wireless adapter to tune.

Can I leave the adapter connected while driving?

Yes, but we do not recommend leaving it connected long-term due to the slight draw on the battery.

Can I tune more than one vehicle?

Each vehicle license allows you to tune one vehicle indefinitely.  If you want to tune additional vehicles, you’ll need to purchase additional vehicle licenses.  You only need to purchase a single ByteTuner wireless adapter though as you can store multiple vehicle licenses on the adapter.

Can I tune more than one vehicle with my account?

Yes, assuming you’ve purchased additional vehicle licenses.  Your account can be linked with any number of vehicle licenses.

Can I transfer my license to another person?

Vehicle licenses are currently non-transferable.

What should I do if my flash failed?

This happens on rare occasion, but typically the DME can be recovered by flashing again.  Temporarily disconnect the battery for a few minutes.  You can then attempt to start the flashing process again.
